KT-SAF Winter 2006 Meeting

Forest Jeopardy Game is Back!

December 16, 2005

By popular demand, Jeopardy is coming to the Winter 2006 Meeting of KTSAF!

We hope that everyone will participate in the Forest Jeopardy game that is being planned for the Winter Meeting of KTSAF preceding the Social Hour on Thursday. Do what ever it takes to practice. Here would be a good time to again watch one of America’s favorite TV game shows. I will warn you that I am not sure that the questions asked on the TV version will be similar to those that will be asked at the meeting – not by any stretch of the imagination.

A few pre-meeting instructions.

1. There will be up to four teams to participate – the three schools and a professional team. OK, maybe we could have several professional teams – those not ready to retire and those that would love to retire but love their jobs too much to think about it, male/female, Kentucky/Tennessee, hey, any combination will be OK. The more the merrier.

2. The format will be question / answer.

3. There will be a time limit on how long to wait for a group to buzz in.

4. There will be a time limit as to how long we wait for an answer.

5. We are looking right now at two games – Jeopardy and Double Jeopardy (twice the point value for the second game).

Maybe having the categories would help in the design of the team make up – so here are the categories: First Round – Dendrology, Ecology, Measurements, Fire, and Lumber Jack Stew. Second Round will consist of: SAF, Silviculture, Management/Economics, Forest Insects/Diseases, and Wildlife.

You will know when and where the Forest Jeopardy game will be when you hear the familiar jeopardy music. Please come and be part of this event – either as a participant or there to cheer your favorite team(s) on.
